SENER attends the Iran RailExpo 201609/05/2016 (United Arab Emirates)
SENER shall participate in the upcoming Iran RailExpo 2016 exhibition, to be held from 15 to 18 May in Tehran. At this exhibition, SENER will showcase its most important projects in rail and urban transport, fields in which it leads the way today. In total, it has worked on more than 10,000 km of rail projects and studies, making it one of the world’s most important companies in this sector.
Its key projects include the metros of Algiers, Los Angeles, Bangalore, Bilbao, Bogotá, Chennai, Dubai, Doha, Guadalajara, Hanoi, Lisbon, Madrid, Oran, Panama, Riyadh, Santiago de Chile and São Paulo. In addition to this are its driverless systems or driverless Unattended Train Operation (UTO), such as the Barcelona Metro line 9, and the light rail and trams in Abu Dhabi, Dublin, Kaohsiung, Lusail, Porto, Oran, Tenerife and Valencia. Equally noteworthy are the monorail, the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), People Mover, passenger trains, both conventional and high-speed, and freight and mixed traffic, including the Figueras (Spain) – Perpignan (France) cross-border high-speed connection. SENER offers comprehensive engineering services (design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance) in all these areas.
Likewise, SENER carries out urban integration of new high-speed lines, as well as stations and rail terminals. Key examples include the Los Angeles Union Station (California), La Sagrera Station (Barcelona, Spain), the Puerta del Sol Transport Interchange (Madrid), which has the world’s largest cavern excavated in a high-density urban area, and the master plan for the stations of Shivajinagar and Bijwasan in India.
The group has also earned itself a strong international reputation as a designer and supplier of Intelligent Transport Systems that incorporate high-tech solutions, such as the STElec software for rail traction power simulations; Blocksat, a program for the management of railway operations for low-traffic lines, based on satellite positioning; inertial navigation and mobile communications; the lateral flight prediction system patented by SENER; and Aerotraviesa®, a sleeper design that minimizes flying ballast, which SENER played a key role in developing in collaboration with Adif and other organizations.
