SENER enters new energy markets24/04/2019 (International)
SENER continues to diversify its areas of activity, applying its extensive experience to the design and implementation of highly complex industrial projects in new sectors and markets.
Recently, the engineering and technology group announced contracts that open the door to fields that have given rise to outstanding opportunities, such as the turnkey construction of surfing lagoons all around the world, thanks to its collaboration agreement with the company Wavegarden.
In these projects, SENER will be able to apply its broad technological skills, developed through its fully multidisciplinary engineering background, to both renewable energy plants and infrastructures.
Of note in the renewables sector is the recent start-up of solar thermal plants Kathu Solar Park, in South Africa (recently inaugurated) and Noor Ouarzazate III, in Morocco, for which SENER completed the engineering, procurement and construction, in addition to supplying key technologies. In the case of Noor Ouarzazate III, SENER is also responsible for the operation and maintenance of the facility.
Thanks to the knowledge derived from its leading position in the solar industry, SENER has taken on new CSP hybridization projects and developments for solar plants with photovoltaic technology. To this end, it has created a new product line, the SENER PV tracker. The family of SENER PV trackers includes both single-row and multi-row trackers.
The SENER engineering and technology group has signed a contract with Peruvian company Servicios Industriales de la Marina (SIMA) to license the use of the FORAN naval design and construction system at its Iquitos facilities.... [+]
