SENER officially opens new offices in Algiers

SENER engineering and technology group has officially opened new offices in the Algerian capital, thus consolidating its long-term commitment to the country in which it began operations seven years ago through the implementation of civil infrastructure projects.

Various prominent Algerian political and business personalities were in attendance, as well as the Spanish Ambassador to Algeria, Gabriel Busquets. Representing SENER were its President, Jorge Sendagorta, the Manager of its Algerian office, Manel Sala and the Manager for the Infrastructures and Transport Strategic Business Unit, Jose Gregorio Briz.

During his speech, Jorge Sendagorta stressed that, “SENER will provide all the technology and experience it has available throughout the world to our team in Algiers. We aren’t going to limit ourselves to civil works projects; we will diversify the scope of our activity over time.” He also highlighted, “the importance of having a team of people from the country who are highly qualified and able to offer an accessible service to our customers.”

From his part, the Spanish Ambassador to Algeria, Gabriel Busquets, highlighted “The ties between the two countries, not only cultural ones, but also business ties." A relationship between neighbors "with a long diplomatic tradition." He also praised the technological capabilities of SENER, which he has defined as "a large Spanish company."

It was from these offices that the design and supervision tasks were carried out for the Algiers Metro; the Oran Tramway and Metro; the Ouargla Tramway; the modernization construction project for the Annaba-Ramdane Djamel line; the Saïda-Moulay Slissen rail corridor design project; and the Air Traffic Control towers of Algiers, Oran, Constantine, Ghardaïa, and Tamanrasset airports, among other projects.

These new offices bring SENER a step further in consolidating its presence in Algeria, a country with great infrastructure development potential. The offices’ foundation is part of SENER's internationalization strategy, which involves entry into new markets and combines the individual corporate culture of a global business with full integration into the particular country’s essence in an effort to maintain close relationships with customers. With the establishment of the Algiers offices, SENER now has 15 divisions throughout various countries in Europe, North America, South America, Africa, and the Middle East.
