SENER to take part in the 2nd Space Engineering Conference with the presentation of four technical papers21/11/2017 (Spain)
The engineering and technology company SENER takes part in Spain's 2nd Space Engineering Conference with the presentation of four technical papers at the event to be held at the Spanish Institute of Engineering in Madrid between 22 and 24 November. The conference will bring together more than 70 speakers to analyze the current state and future prospects of space engineering and the industry in Spain. SENER is a member of the Advisory Board of the Spanish Institute of Engineers (COIAE), which has organized this event in collaboration with the Association of Spanish Aeronautics Engineers (AIAE).
A group of project directors and engineers from the Aerospace division of SENER will present a selection of the most recent major projects led by the company. Demetrio Zorita will present ‘Main payload of the SEOSat/Ingenio’, Salvador Llorente will present ‘The Attitude Orbit Control System (AOCS) of Euclid’, Daniel Serrano will discuss ‘Proba-3: High precision Formation Flying’, and Víctor Gómez will present ‘Developing the Helicon Plasma Thruster (HPT)’. In addition, SENER's Space Director, Diego Rodríguez, will take part in a round table on Innovation with companies and institutions from the sector.
This edition is putting the spotlight on the R&D developments of the space industry, which employs over 3,300 people in Spain, and the need to promote public and private investment in the sector.
SENER commemorates 50 years as a key player in the space industry. To date, SENER has successfully handed over more than 275 systems and equipment for satellites and space vehicles for space agencies in the US (NASA), Europe (ESA), Japan (JAXA) and Russia (Roskosmos). SENER is the leading Spanish company in the European Space Agency's science programs through its engineering contributions; SENER has taken part in more than half of these missions.
