San Roque equipment center of Portugalete.

The aim of this project is to organize a single project integrating a youth center (1.000m²), a community center for the elderly (1.500m²), a car park (20.000m²), and a large outdoor square, in a plot with high slope.

The facilities building, on the one hand seeks to become a significant part of the city, located in a strategic point and with the required building size. On the other hand, it aims to be of an adequate scale with regards to the park, freeing up as much space as possible around the urban core. This building is located on the highest floor and hosts the Day Center, the Retiree's Home, and the Youth Center.

The Third Age Centre has various different spaces: The Day Centre is a housing space for up to 30 people, The Retirement Home is a public space and there is also a common dining room.

The building is divided into two, the first has an open air patio that creates an outdoor area within the building for use by members of the Day Centre, and the second is for the Café and Social Centre.

The Youth Center has an abstract rectangular form and is accessed from the last floor by a sloping ramp or by the elevator. This is an open bright space with a lot of light, using a double skin of wood and glass.

The other floors house a commercial area on several levels. The San Roque Chapel is located under the Day Center terrace and there are several parking floors with a capacity for more than 600 vehicles.
